I solve problems at the intersection of product and engineering—figuring out what's actually worth building, then building it well. I care about impact, simplicity, and shipping things that work.

About

Ashwin Sam George | Software Engineer

I'm a software engineer who enjoys going deep—not just making things work, but understanding why they should exist and how they should feel to use.

When I pick up a feature, I think about impact first. Is this crucial? What's the simplest path that actually solves the user's problem? Then I figure out how to build it fast without cutting corners—whether that means rethinking a database query, simplifying a UI flow, or pushing back on scope that doesn't make sense.

I've worked across internal platforms, SaaS products, and now at a legal AI startup, where I get to shape both the product and the technology from the ground up.

Experience

Founding Engineer

Legal-Tech Startup
Jan 2026 – Present
Dubai, UAE

Founding engineer at an early-stage legal-tech startup, building LLM features for email intelligence and AI-generated case reports used by lawyers.

  • Defined the core system architecture (auditability-first pipeline design, cross-document contradiction detection) and presented it to the engineering team
  • Engineered the email intelligence pipeline: RFC 822-based threading, cross-provider normalization (Gmail, Outlook, EML) and clustering of related emails into sub-threads
  • Shipped a generate-and-verify LLM pipeline for case summaries: one model drafts from RAG-retrieved emails, a second checks each claim against the sources and flags hallucinations, cutting manual review time by ~40%
  • Lowered LLM input-token cost by ~60% and time to first token by ~2x on long reports by restructuring prompts into a stable, cacheable prefix for provider prompt caching
  • Made end-to-end report generation ~3x faster with concurrent async LLM requests and rate-limit-aware queuing across multi-document jobs

Software Engineer

Tarento Technologies

ParkiFly – Airport Parking & Shuttle SaaS (client: MatchedIn, Sweden)

Jan 2025 – Dec 2025
  • Refactored the Angular 19 codebase and fixed critical modules, reducing frontend bugs by 90%
  • Mapped undocumented booking and billing flows with clients and resolved data inconsistencies
  • Developed shuttle, hotel transfer and car maintenance dashboards with server-side pagination, debounced search, lazy-loaded modules and lightweight centralized state management
  • Delivered architecture and UI/UX improvements in daily syncs with the Sweden-based CTO and product team

Kronos – Internal Employee Platform

Feb 2024 – Feb 2025
  • Cut report latency from 6s to 200ms with MySQL indexing and Redis caching (self-initiated), reducing DB load by 80%
  • Reduced Angular bundle size by 40% via lazy loading and code splitting; improved frontend performance with server-side pagination and memoization
  • Replaced Logstash with a direct MySQL-to-Elasticsearch sync, stabilizing live data indexing
  • Built a real-time tax calculator with RxJS debouncing and standardized form validation with a reusable utility
  • Automated CI/CD with Jenkins and Docker; wrote ADRs and mentored junior engineers on scalable design

Game Development

A passion project playground

Outside of work, I love building games. It's where I get to play around with ideas and just have fun coding.
